Born in Poland, she grew up with an artistic soul and a wild imagination – dropping her dolls, toys, and even her pets in handmade creations. It was her grandmother who infused her with a deep passion for craftsmanship, teaching her that the most meaningful pieces are those made with heart. As a child Anna k. spent countless hours beside her grandmother, a skilled artisan whose hands moved with care and quiet wisdom. In those moments, she didn’t just learn how to create – she discovered the soul behind handmade beauty.

From the very beginning, fashion was more than a fascination; it was a language of her soul.

Yet life led her down a different path. She earned an MBA degree in finance and built a successful career in the oil industry – a world of precision and structure, and followed a road paved with discipline and logic. But the dream of design never left her.

At 30, Anna left Poland in search of more. Her journey took her across countries and cultures – first to the Netherlands, then to Switzerland. From there, the world opened up to her.

Work and curiosity carried Anna across continents – from European cities to African landscapes. She wandered through art galleries, textile markets, and ancient streets, soaking in colors, textures, and the stories of distant cultures, absorbing beauty in every form. She fell in love with diversity, with art, with texture and tradition. Africa stirred something deep within her. The spirit, the creativity, the raw beauty of the land spoke to her artistic heart.

Eventually, she found herself in South Africa, after a life of achievement and global exploration, at the age of 46, that Anna paused – and chose. She chose to stop waiting. To stop wondering. To finally return to what had always lived in her heart, her first love – fashion – rose to the surface once more.

With quiet certainty and bold intention, Anna k. decided it was time. Time to return to what had always been within her. To create not just clothing, but expression of beauty, confidence, and individuality.  With vision, courage and grace, she founded her namesake brand – DirectOn.
